International Doctoral Programme

Eligibility conditions:

• submission of the required documents by completing an online application form, providing the required attachments and paying the recruitment fee,
• successful completion of individual stages of the recruitment procedure;
• conclusion of an agreement on the fees and conditions of charging fees for the doctoral seminar. Prior to concluding the agreement, the candidates are requested to get familiar with the following documents:
• The Order on the fees for the proceedings for awarding a doctoral degree and the fees and payment rules for attending a doctoral seminar at the WSEI University of Lublin,
• Agreement on the attendance in the doctoral seminar and on the fees and conditions of charging fees.

Documents required:

The candidate is obliged to submit the following required documents:

• an application for admission to the doctoral seminar, indicating the specific scientific discipline, the selected subject area and supervisor/supervisors,
• candidate’s photo,
• completed personal data form,
• cover letter justifying the selection of the subject area indicated,
•  CV containing information on completed studies, scientific interests, professional experience, description of scientific activities and other activities (post-graduate studies, specialist courses, qualification and refresher courses, professional and scientific internships, social, student and voluntary activities, etc.),
• Diploma of Master’s degree studies or equivalent
• university diploma supplement or a list of courses completed,
• list of scientific achievements (including copies of scientific publications).

A person holding a Master’s degree or an equivalent diploma may be admitted to a doctoral seminar conducted in English.

Formal requirements for foreigners

Recruitment steps:

I STAGE – Candidates wishing to attend a doctoral seminar conducted in English are requested to fill in an online application form, to pay the recruitment fee and to attach the required documents.

II STAGE – deals with assessing the documentation submitted during the recruitment process as regards the fulfilment of the formal conditions. In the event of deficiencies in the documentation, the candidate will be requested to complete it within 7 days, the failure of which shall result in the application for the admission to the seminar being rejected. If the documents are not completed within the given deadline, the recruitment fee shall not be reimbursed.

III STAGE – Recruitment procedures consist of the evaluation of the candidate’s research aptitudes based on the documents submitted and an interview with an academic staff worker whose research interests are in line with the profile of the candidate’s research interests.

Following the selection procedure, the candidate shall be informed immediately whether or not they have been admitted to the doctoral seminar conducted in English.

After having been informed of the enrollment in the list of participants of the doctoral seminar conducted in English, the participant of the seminar is obliged to conclude an agreement with the university and make the required payments.

Detailed timetable for the selection procedure:

• by 08.2024 – filling in an online application form, submitting the required documents in paper form or sending scans of the recruitment documents to: doctorates@akademiawsei.euand paying the recruitment fee
• 01-12.07.2024, 01-15.09.2024– interviews
• 09.2024 – announcement of the list of persons admitted to the doctoral seminar conducted in English.

CANDIDATE’S PERSONAL FORM DOCTORAL SEMINAR

APPLICATION FOR ADMISSION TO THE DOCTORAL SEMINAR

AGREEMENT

The standard period for a doctoral seminar is up to 8 semesters. During the seminar, the participant acquires experience in conducting and disseminating research as well as planning and implementing research projects.

Doctoral seminar conducted  in English:

• prepares for a PhD degree,
• lasts up to 8 semesters and ends with submitting a doctoral thesis in English;
•  is based on a study programme and a personal research plan.

PhD disciplines:

• technical computing and telecommunications
• economics and finance

The implementation of the study programme conducted in English leads to the learning outcomes at level 8 of the Polish Qualifications Framework to be achieved.

The study programme shall take the form of:

• classes involving lectures, seminars, recitation classes, laboratory classes or project development classes in English,
• scientific work in cooperation with the supervisor or supervisors,
• participation in scientific conferences,
• preparation of scientific publications and a doctoral thesis by the participant.

Fee on recruitment for a doctoral seminar conducted in English– EUR 300

Registration fee (one-off payment, prior to signing an agreement) – PLN 500,00.

Educational fees:

*where the discount referred to in §6 of the Order is used, the fee for the last semester of the seminar shall be reduced by 10 % of the total doctoral seminar fee.

Company Discount

if at least 3 employees have been sent to a doctoral seminar from the same company, the participant shall receive a discount of 10 % of the doctoral seminar fee.

Discount for the graduates of the WSEI University of Lublin

graduates of second-degree studies and long-cycle master’s degree studies completed at the WSEI University of Lublin shall receive a discount of 10% of the doctoral seminar fee.

Discounts are charged during the last semester of the doctoral seminar attended by the participant.

Discounts do not add up. A participant of a doctoral seminar meeting the condition specified in ‘WSEI University Discount or ‘Company Discount’ is charged only one of them, at the rate of 10 % of the fee for attending the doctoral seminar.
